At the heart of Miami Bowls is our founder, Alex Macias. From his early days as a barista at Starbucks, Alex’s entrepreneurial spirit was undeniable. He honed his skills, understanding the nuances of crafting beverages and the importance of customer experience. But his vision extended beyond coffee.
While still a student at the University of Miami, Alex embarked on a unique venture: serving specialty açaí and pitaya bowls from a mobile setup. This wasn’t just any food cart; it was a little wagon, symbolizing humble beginnings and big aspirations. This very wagon now holds a place of honor in our store, reminding us of our roots and the journey we’ve undertaken.
In 2025, at just 22 years old, Alex turned his dream into reality by opening the first brick-and-mortar Miami Bowls location at 1659 James Ave, near the iconic Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. His commitment to authenticity is evident in every bowl we serve.
Embracing the Hawaiian tradition, our açaí bowls are generously portioned and handcrafted with precision. We prioritize organic ingredients, ensuring that our offerings are not only delicious but also health-conscious. Our juices and milks are exclusively non-dairy, and every item on our menu is gluten-free, catering to a diverse range of dietary preferences.
